Cancellation and refunds
Last updated 11 October 2026
One payment, no subscription
A report costs £8.99 for one home, paid once. There is nothing to cancel afterwards and you will never be charged again unless you buy another report.
Your 14-day right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can normally cancel an online purchase within 14 days. For digital content like a report, that right ends once the report is provided, if you asked for it straight away and acknowledged losing the right. You do this with the tick box before paying, and we confirm it by email.
If you paid but have not yet opened your report, you can still cancel within 14 days of paying for a full refund.
When we refund
We refund in full if we couldn't produce your report, if a fault on our side means it is wrong, if you were charged twice, or if it is otherwise not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where we can, we may offer to fix the report first.
If you made a mistake entering your home's details, write to us within 14 days and we will run the check again with the right details, free.
When we don't
We don't refund because you disagree with the verdict, because the VOA or your council decides differently, or because public data has changed since your report was made. This does not affect your statutory rights.
How to ask
Write to hello@checkfairband.co.uk from the email address on your account, with the home's address. We reply within 5 working days, and refund to the card you paid with within 14 days of agreeing a refund. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
